These are 2 criterions on distinguishing heavy duty Welding Column and Boom from light duty and medium duty Welding Manipulator:
1) Max. loading capacity at the front end of horizontal boom is 200kg to 400kg;
2) Stroke: Horizontal Boom up and down Y axis and horizontal X axis traveling stroke of the Weld Column Boom is 5,000mmx5,000mm and above (LHZ5050 and above).
Same as Light duty Welding Manipulator and Medium duty Welding Manipulator, Heavy duty Welding Manipulator can further be classified into several branches of:
1) Based on with motor drive moving trolley: Stationary Welding Manipulator, and traveling Welding Manipulator;
2) Based on manual and or motor drive column revolve type: In practical application, manual revolve column has wider adoption than motor drive column rotation, in configuration of Welding Manipulator;
3) Based on welding mode: SAW (Submerged arc welding), or Strip Cladding Weld Column Boom, or MIG/MAG/CO2. For Heavy duty Welding Manipulator, the welding mode of SAW Welding Column and Boom has the largest share;
4) Based on applicating industries, or usage: Industrial Tank Welding Machine (Welding Column & Boom for Tank Welding), or Welding Column and Boom for Pipe Line/ Boiler, etc.
With the increasement of overall dimensions and boom end loading in Welding Column & Boom, as the Chinese saying goes: “Quantitative change causes Qualitative change”, even with the same structure and working principle as light duty and medium duty Welding Column and Boom, design and process technology of Heavy duty Welding Manipulator are specifically treated as below:
See below picture:
The above small photo gives novel viewpoint on horizontal boom and vertical column, which constitute “trunk” of Welding Manipulator:
1) Strengthened Welding Column and Boom: As can be seen from the above photo, for this heavy duty Industrial Tank Welding Machine, its column/ boom and base bed have sizes sufficiently enlarged, including length/ width/ height and thickness, making the whole skeleton of the Heavy duty Welding Manipulator gaining sufficient strength and rigidity;
2) Process Technology Making Welding Column & Boom: The Welding Column & Boom are press brake parts made from high intensity steel plates, then fabricated into shape, and stress relieved by means of annealing, and finally precisely machined by means of planning and grinding;
3) Cross Section of Weld Column Boom: Unique design on cross section of the Weld Column Boom for heavy duty Industrial Tank Welding Machine;
4) Small Arm at Front End of Boom: When boom horizontal stroke is equal to or longer than 6000 mm, there is a small extending arm fit at the front end of the boom. In this way, the Heavy duty Welding Manipulator can not only fulfil the task on effective traveling stroke, but also reducing total weight of the boom;
5) Summary: The entire group of Welding Column and Boom has relative light weight, high stiffness and good stability, serving as a reliable mechanical body of LHZ series Heavy duty Welding Manipulator;
1) Guiderail: For heavy duty Welding Column and Boom, guideway of both horizontal and vertical movement of boom is adopted with heavy duty precise rectangular guiderail. See below picture:
2) These rectangular guiderails are made of high quality steel, and machined with planning machine, in highly degree of precision and strength, guaranteeing stable quality of Heavy duty Welding Manipulator.
