A.  Application of Heavy duty SAW Welding Center:

1. The SAW Welding Center (Submerged arc welding) of this product section is a forceful and powerful type Welding Integrated System, compared with the “High Precision Light Barrel GMAW Welding Center”;

2. Task: Such Heavy duty SAW Welding Center is for welding large diameter and long length tanks/ vessels/ cylinders made of carbon steel, which is applied in Petrochemical/ Pipeline/ Pressure Vessel facilities;

3. Technical Specifications of Applicable Workpieces delivered from SAW Welding Center:

1) Diameter scope Φ1000 ~ 4500mm, pipe wall thickness 16~ 80mm, length up to 10s ~ 20s m;

2) Material of tanks/ vessels/ cylinders are carbon steel and or stainless steel, which is often seen in the field of tank production;

3) This heavy duty Tank Welding Machine can perform on both longitudinal and circumferential seam welding on external or internal walls of tanks/ cylinders.



B. Technical Specialties of Heavy duty SAW Welding Center:

1. Main Units of Welding Integrated System:

1) One set of LHZ5050 model heavy duty column revolving Traveling Welding Manipulator;

2) Four sets of HLK80 model  80 Ton loading capacity Anti-drifting Bolt Adjusting Welding Rotator. The anti-drifting function is driven with hydraulic lifting;

3) One set of Sweden produced ESAB brand LAF1601 SAW (Submerged arc welding) power supply together with 15m length cables;

4) Two pieces of welding head for switching between SAW and Strip cladding in this SAW Welding Center: A6S Arcmaster (Twin wire diameter Φ3mm, ratio 156:1) for SAW, and 30~100mm A6 for Strip cladding;

2. Welding Supporting Units of this Heavy duty SAW Welding Center:

1) Control panel PEK with motorized support 300x300mm; A6 cable and PEK 5m;

2) Welding seam auto tracking device GMH. For introduction on welding seam tracker unit, please check product section of “LHZ High Precision Welding Manipulator with Welding Seam Tracker”;

3) Cassette for welding wire - 30kg, 2 sets;

4) Welding wire straightening unit A6;

5) Complect TWIN 2x3mm,

6) 10L capacity SAW Welding flux hopper and flux conveying tube;

7) Welding torch for implementing on twin arc SAW;

8) FEED ROLLER twin (2*3.0mm);

9) Laser point and lamp for tracing welding seam;

10) Flux nozzle for A6 strip head;

11) Strip belt reel for strip cladding;

3. Working Mode adopted in this Heavy duty SAW Welding Center:

1)  As can be seen from attached pictures, by means of each set of the 80 Ton loading capacity Bolt Adjusting Welding Rotator, a segment of workpiece can be welded along circumferential seam separately, by means of the SAW head in LHZ5050 Moving Welding Manipulator: 

Fabricating on tanks with Welding Center: Welding manipulator work together with hydraulic drive lifting function welding rotator, of 80 ton loading capacity welding roller bed:  (Fig.1

2) This advanced Welding Center can also join the individual workpieces into an integrated longer tanks or vessels, by performing on joint circumferential seam welding on rims of tanks: (Fig.2

3) The hydraulic drive lifting and anti-drifting function of the Bolt Adjusting Welding Rotator is for successfully completing the above mentioned joint task --- With this capability, height of the any two pieces of workpieces can be manipulated precisely to the perfect same height levelness.

4. Control and Operation of this Heavy duty SAW Welding Center:


1) Electric Control System: As can be seen from the attached pictures, all the Tank Welding Machine of this Heavy duty SAW Welding Center--- The LHZ5050 model Traveling Welding Manipulator, the 4 sets of Bolt Adjusting Welding Rotator, can be controlled either individually, or integrally as a Welding Integrated System. This gives more flexibility on daily running of the Welding Center;

2) There is control board and operating panel equipped with each set of the Welding Rotator and Welding Manipulator. To have compact size and save space as well as get proper height for operators to operate, control board of each set of Bolt Adjusting Welding Rotator is put just above its hydraulic unit:
