Long Length Grooving SXBJ-15 Double Heads Edge Milling Machine

A. Outline on Usage and Application of SXBJ-15 Double Heads Long Length Edge Milling Machine:

1. Function: The SXBJ-15 double heads model machine fulfils welding groove milling on medium to long length metal plates in high efficiency;

2. Customer: The attached picture shows a set of Wuxi JACK SXBJ-15 model long length machine in half assembled status at customer site--- A Chinese Shipbuilding facility, with its mechanical structure erected, while the 2 sets of milling head carriages still not assembled yet;

B. Application of the SXBJ-15 Sheet Metal Plate Beveling Machine:

1. Where: From the attached first photo, background of this set of SXBJ-15 model equipment reveals that, it is applied at a typical Shipbuilding Facility, deployed at SOL position, (Start of Line) of Production Line;

2. Why Use End Milling Machine in Ship Building Industry:

1) In the field of Shipbuilding, larger sizes of steel plate need to be acquired, in the way of fabrication from joining 2 pieces of steel plates, in the Plate Butt Joint Welding Machine;

2) For this purpose, edges of steel plates with thickness above 15mm need to have slant edges, in order to get a fully penetration during butt joining process. This is when should the Edge Milling Machine to be used;

3) For this reason, this SXBJ-15 model is in essence a set of 1^st operation welding preparation equipment;

3. Working Features of SXBJ-15 Long Length End Milling Machine:

1) Equipped with 2 sets of milling heads at the same side of working zone, the SXBJ-15 model machine can produce all the typical common necessary welding grooves, including straight edge, upper and lower edge, with the completion of one time stroke of milling heads along machine work table;

2) Usually, the types of bevels that can be delivered from the XBJ series Edge Milling Machine all have straight line edges, shown as below: (Fig.3)

3) Special Grooves: On the other hand, for application in Shipbuilding, sometimes there exist demand on special shape grooves, such as round shape. By this time, the Edge Milling Equipment should be equipped with special made facer blade, installed onto its milling head:

4. In a nutshell, the XBJ series Edge Milling Machine is the primary stage equipment, distributed at these large scale Production Lines, for the purpose of welding groove preparation on edges of metal plates, into required bevels and chamfers.
