The conventional standard XBJ and SXBJ series machines have unidirectional arrangement on its functional zones:
1) The front side of the Edge Groove Making Equipment working table is for loading and unloading workpiece steel plate into and out of the machine for edge beveling operation, see below photo:
The material handling side of Wuxi JACK conventional SXBJ-18 Large Scale Sheet Metal Plate End Milling Machine (Fig.1)
2) The back side of the automatic equipment for edge groove making is installed with 1 or 2 sets of milling head, to complete on edge grooving task of the Edge Chamfering Machine, see below photo:

Comparatively, this bidirectional SXBJ-12 model does not have division on its functional zones:
1) Instead, both sides of this equipment for large scale sheet metal plate edge groove making can be taken as both material loading side and operating side, see below photo:
2) The on site installed and operated Wuxi JACK SXBJ-12 Bidirectional Sheet Metal Plate Edge Milling Machine at customer facility: (Fig.3)
1) With such structure of Edge Milling Machine, the on site planning and implementing on edge milling operation is flexible and convenient for customer, which can be changed and swapped based on practical condition all the while;
2) Besides, for machining on small width workpiece steel plates, which ranges from 300mm to 1000mm width, such SXBJ-12 bidirectional structure equipment for edge groove making can fulfil on edge chamfering on both sides of the workpiece steel plate simultaneously, as shown in attached video of this product section.
1) The attached picture shows mechanical body of this SXBJ-12 model machine for sheet metal plate edge beveling task;
2) Just take a glance at its working table cross section, we can come to the conclusion that, it is a set of Edge Milling Machine with double side operation;
3) Symmetrical, with both sides having floor base traveling troughs, for accommodating moving of milling carriage, along the entire working table of the equipment of plate edge groove making during working. See below photo:

There are several useful applications for adopting such structure of equipment:
In the application field of XBJ and SXBJ series Edge Milling Machine, under certain circumstances, customers request to have such special design of bidirectional both sides of the Edge Groove Making Equipment working table, to be assembled with milling head, for getting the benefits of:
1) Flexible Job: Operators can stand at both sides of the machine of edge milling for producing welding groove;
2) Several Workpieces Together: The both sides installed milling heads can have operation of plate end milling respectively, on different pieces of workpieces which are clamped into the machine of end milling at the same time;
3) Special Workpieces and Edge Milling Demand: Both sides milling heads of the machine of edge milling can work in pair, to have edge milling on a narrow and long workpiece, make welding groove at both sides of the workpiece simultaneously;

4) Better Work Balance: Operators at both sides of the Edge Milling Machine work in turn, carrying out plate end milling, together with loading and unloading in alternate. This can get better work balance during work of the machine for implementing on sheet metal plate edge beveling operation;
There is seldom perfect solution on nearly every kind of equipment, including XBJ and SXBJ series Edge Milling Machine. For this special design SXBJ-12 equipment of bidirectional edge groove milling, below several points need to be paid attention on:
a) There is no space for installing the 1000 ~3000 mm width front extension racks, which are used for loading and unloading workpieces steel plate into and out of machine of end milling;
b) So, how to load workpiece into such bidirectional machine of edge milling, and get it off is an issue for customer to consider and solve ahead of time;
a) Although being a set of double heads cofiguration machine of edge milling, each side of the SXBJ-12 Edge Chamfering Machine working table is single milling head. Which means, only top and straight edges chamfers and bevels can be made on the workpiece steel plate;
b) So, if it is necessary have bottom edges of the steel plate edge milled, the workpiece need to be taken off the machine, flipped upside down 180°, and got loaded into the machine again --- As is the popular practice in conventional XBJ models single head Edge Beveling Machine;
c) For this reason, the most fitting workpieces steel plate applicable to be processed in such structure of machine for edge milling is strip plates, which has long length and small width: It had better have width not up to 1000mm. Such kind of strip plates are usually cut in batch with CG series Strip Plate Cutting Machine.
