MP25 Plate Butt Welding Joint Machine in the first photo was taken from its butt welding side, or finished workpiece going out side.
MP series Plate Butt Welding Joining Machine adopts welding technology of Melt thru, which means “Single side welding and double side forming”. It has technical specialty of large welding current and forced welding seam formation, with advantage of little deformation and good quality;
a) Advantages: Benefiting from this melt thru technique, MP series Plate Butt Weld Joining Machine doubles productivity of plate butt joint welding, making the whole operation simple and smooth: Without this Plate Butt Joint Machine, the butt joint welding of two pieces of metal plates involves 2 times of welding (On both sides of metal plates) plus one time of half finished joint plate overturning, plus carbon arc gouging on the 2nd side of plate;
b) Efficiency Raise: Now, in MP series Plate Butt Welding Joint Machine, only top side plate welding can attain the target of plate joint, and all the remaining jobs of above mentioned are not necessary any more. In this sense, the total cycle time can be decreased 30%~ 40%;
Besides, without necessity of making the workpiece upside down, which entails cooperation among several operators, and should take great care in the process, lesser manpower is needed, the most dangerous step of operation is removed, the entire working process in the MP series Plate Butt Joint Machine becomes fully automatic and safe.
a) The first piece of metal plate is hoisted onto input conveyor of the Plate Butt Weld Joint Machine, and goes forward toward machine gantry, until its rear edge (The edge for butt welding in the first plate) arrives at position of triple cutting torch;
b) By this time, operator should press the STOP button to stop moving forward of the first plate, and have triple cutting for beveling. The triple torch can be adjusted up and down (Motor drive), forward and backward (Manual control), making the triple cutting torch tip direct at edge of the plate;
c) Please check attached video on triple cutting step in the MP series Plate Butt Welding Joining Machine. It is same as Plate Triple Cutting Machine. At the completion of rear edge beveling on the first plate, it resumes going forward, until arrives at the welding torch position at the other side of gantry;
a) The second piece of metal plate is hoisted onto input conveyor of the Plate Butt Welding Joint Machine, and sent forward, until its front edge (The edge for butt welding in the second plate) arrives at position of triple cutting torch;
b) The same beveling step is repeated in the second plate. At completion, it is also sent forward to welding base. By this time, the two pieces of metal plates for butt joint are all right at copper pads unit (Butt welding unit) of the Plate Butt Joint Machine;
a) The attached 3rd~ 6th photos reflect melt thru butt welding in the Plate Butt Joint Machine. The edges of two plates for joint should be right at middle of copper pads, as can be identified in the 4th photo;
b) During welding in the Plate Butt Welding Joint Machine, parameters such as welding current/ voltage/ velocity can be adjusted with control console of SAW power supply, as can be found in the 5th photo;
c) In MP series Plate Butt Joint Machine, welding position is flat butt welding, different from 45° fillet welding in H Beam Submerged Arc Welding Machine, or flat fillet welding in H Beam Fabrication Machine. The entire melt thru SAW butt welding is automatically performed.
