DX5080 Beam End Facing Machine for Ship Building Industry

Working Site of DX5080 Large H Beam End Face Milling Machine:

1) In the attached first photo is a set of Wuxi JACK produced DX5080 large Steel Structure End Milling Machine, which was being installed at customer site;

A. Customers of DX5080 and or Other Models Large H Beam End Face Milling Machine:

1. Customer is a Shipbuilding Facility in South Central of China;

2. In a Shipbuilding facility, first metal plates need to be trimmed with Edge Rounding Machine; Then made into WIP (Working in process) of Stiffener Elements, and got straightened with Stiffener Plate Element Straightening Machine, then produced into final products of large ship;

3. Besides Shipbuilding, other industries that have demand on such large Welding Structure End Face Milling Machine are Bridge Construction (Such as Bay Bridge. 4. The Largest Model of H Beam End Face Milling Machine:

1) The largest one we have made up to now, in the DX series Welding Structure End Face Milling Machine, is a set of DX6080 model large machine exported to Vietnam in 2018;

2) Hoisting of its upright column and horizontal machine bed, as well as erection at customer site, please see the attached second and third photos;

5. Application Status of Large H Beam End Face Milling Machine:

1) In general, there is not a lot of demand on such large model machines in the market (Refers to vertical end face milling stroke of 4,000mm and above, such as DX40xx/ DX50xx /DX60xx…), accounting for 5~10% at most with estimation;

2) Meanwhile, of course, the grand size of the H Beam End Face Milling Machine usually poses deep impression on people going around it, and the capability of designing/ processing/ manufacturing such large model usually reflects general strength of a company.

B. Design Size and Processing Technology of Components in Large Welding Structure End Face Milling Machine:

As we mentioned in former product section, 3,000mm valid vertical stroke is the entry level of large models machine. The most applied models fall within the scope of 3,000 mm ~ 3,500 mm vertical stroke, such as DX3030/ DX3535… etc. When the vertical end face milling stroke goes to 4,000mm and above, the machine is special made and involves special attention on its order to delivery process. Here we give several points as below:

1. Size of Subassemblies and its Raw Materials in Heavy Duty End Face Milling Machine:

The foremost one is design size on components/ subassemblies of the Heavy duty End Face Milling Machine. For this specific DX5080, the overall sizes of the machine and subassemblies are as this: 

1) Total height of the entire set of DX5080 is 7.5m; 

2) Total length of the entire set of DX5080 is 11m; 

3) Total width of the entire set of DX5080 is 2.5m; 

4) Base bed height is 700mm (The standard height is 500mm); 

5) All the units of the large Steel Structure End Milling Machine are made of high strength steel plates of 20~30mm thickness (The 30mm thickness plates take majority);

2. Processing Technology of Components and Assemblies in Heavy Duty End Face Milling Machine:

1) All the sub-assemblies of the DX5080 large model machine, including the 10.5m long machine base bed and 6.7m height column, are all machined integrally and assembled together, instead of pieced from segments. Thus can guarantee on the best degree of rigidity and strength of total frame of this large machine;

2) The assembly process of the large model machine is guaranteed with torque control: All the fitting connections have stipulated torque, and implemented with stipulated assembling tools depending on torque value and type of assembly;

c) The mechanical units of Large H Beam End Face Milling Machine, especially its machine base bed, are distributed all around large numbers of stiffeners at both external and internal --- For such large model machines, firmness and intensity is the No.1 factor to be considered all the whiles.
