The LBA10 Automatic T Beam Welding machine performs the 4th step of welding T Beam production next to assembly and tack welding.
1) This T Beam Welding Machine is the counterpart of H Beam welding in welding H Beam production, which
implements the similar function of workpiece welding following assembling;
a) The T Beam Welding machine for shipyard adopts with Gas shielded CO2 welding, instead of SAW
(Submerged arc welding) in H Beam welding. This is because T Beam is usually used in Shipbuilding industry, which poses higher demand on toughness of welding seam;
b) Compared with SAW, the GMAW CO2 welding process generates large volume of fume and arc light. So,
workshop of such automatic T Beam Welding Equipment need to have welding fume extracting and cleaning system put into use, or the machine itself is equipped with such welding fume recycling unit, which is shown in the attached picture;
c) Please check attached picture. The H Beam welding can only weld 1 (LHC) or 2 (LHA/ LHT) pieces of H Beam
one time, while this T Beam Welding Equipment for shipyard can weld several (5 or 6) pieces of T Beam at the same time, which boosts productivity greatly;
1) As can be seen from the attached picture, with as much as 5~6 welding stations installed on its gantry frame
body, this automatic T Beam Welding equipment for shipbuilding is a set of “giant” machine;
2) The gantry frame body itself also serves as operating and maintenance platform of the machine, with
working station fit onto it. During working, operator stands on this working station to manage and monitor
welding process of the T Beams;
3) All the welding power supplies are put on the overhead platform. So, the gantry frame takes majority of
loading weight of this T Beam Welding equipment for shipbuilding, which should be strong, firm, and sturdy;
4) Control board of the machine is installed at lateral side of the gantry frame, with operating pendant installed
at the front side of the gantry adjacent to working station. In this way, both plain & simple cable routing, as
well as convenient operation are considered together;
1) Operation of this T Beam Welding machine is similar to that of H Beam welding machine. During work, the
workpieces of T Beam are put onto its rack and kept standstill, while the gantry frame of the machine travels
along its rail in welding speed, welding the T Beam workpieces simultaneously;
2) Due to the potential harm caused from welding fume and arc light generated from CO2 welding, operator of
this automatic T Beam Welding equipment should put on proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment),
including Welding helmet and goggles, and abide by security regulation of the facility.
