Large Size Multi-function Cross Slides Welding Column And Boom

1. The Scope of Large Size Welding Column and Boom:

1) Threshold: When the vertical stroke of boom equals to or exceeds 5000mm, which means the diameter of workpiece is Φ5,000mm or plus, the corresponding Welding Manipulator belongs to large size models of the welding equipment;

2) Technical Difficult Point: Same as DX series steel structure BOX H Beam End Face Milling Machine, the increasement on overall dimension and working stroke of the Weld Manipulator brings along challenge on design/ manufacture/ delivery of this large size welding machinery, as shown in attached and below photos:

2. Mechanical Features of Large Size Heavy duty Welding Manipulator:

1) Integral piece of upright column and horizontal Boom, of Wuxi JACK large model Heavy duty Welding Column and Boom: (Fig.3)

Shown as above, to fully guarantee on sufficient strength and integrity of the large welding machinery, its square cross section shape column and boom are integral parts, instead of pieced together;

2)  Cross Slides, driving motor, and counterweight of Wuxi JACK Large Size Welding Column and Boom: (Fig.4) 

a)  Shown as above, cross slides of heavy duty Weld Manipulator is different from light duty models, which is more sturdy;

b) Motor is installed at bottom of the upright column, instead of on the top, to reduce total height of the large model welding equipment, making the welding machinery more stable;

c) Counterweight is connected with chain and sprocket, making balance of the entire set of large size welding manipulating equipment;

3) Long range moving rails of Wuxi JACK LHZ5050 model Large Size Heavy duty Welding Column and Boom, at Russian customer workshop: (Fig.5)

Under majority conditions, these large size heavy duty welding machine tool is applied in the form of moving type, to make conveniently fabrication on batch of tanks in a row, as shown in the above;

4) Walking passage available for both horizontal Boom and upright column in Wuxi JACK Large Size Heavy duty Welding Manipulator: (Fig.6)

3. Applicable Welding Mode for Large Size Heavy duty Welding Column and Boom:

1) In theory, all the welding modes can be equipped into large size Welding Manipulator: 

- SAW (Submerged arc welding);

- GMAW (Gas metal arc welding);

- CO₂ gas shielded welding;

- TIG;

- MIG;

- MAG;

- ESW (Electroslag Welding)/ Strip Cladding...

2) In practical conditions, because most majority of cylinders to be welded in large size column and Boom welding equipment have features of: Large diameter, big thickness, and made of carbon steel, which is applicable for SAW, including specific modes of SAW back welding, SAW finished welding, and SAW strip cladding;

4) Other Fitting Working Modes in Large Size Heavy duty Multi-function Welding Manipulator:

1) Cross slide Weld Manipulator is not confined to welding operation, but more available operation as well: Carbon arc gouging/ Grinding/ Polishing/ Painting/ Testing, etc. this makes the equipment multi-function and versatile;

2) For this reason, when making inquiry on this universal welding manipulating machinery, customer should denote on the expected types of operating heads to be equipped into the welding equipment.

4. Technical Requirements on Large Size Heavy duty Multi-function Welding Column and Boom:

1) Positioning Precision: When it is necessary for the Multi-function Welding Manipulator to be worked in coordination with other welding equipment, (Especially Welding positioner, welding rotator, welding robot, etc.), the welding positioning precision of these large size heavy duty welding machinery should be stipulated and made clear;

2) Communicating Interface with Other Welding Equipment: 

For acquiring on smooth and effective communication between Welding Manipulator and remaining welding equipment, the communicating interface should be arranged in the electric control system of the machine group;

3) Video Monitor: To have full management on welding process, especially when working on workpiece of small diameter, or other reasons that leads to difficult direct access on monitoring welding operation at welding point, the useful video monitor had better to equipped:
