1) As an extensively applied Welding Equipment, Welding Manipulator should have capability of delivering satisfactory formed welding seam, implemented in the way of controllable and uniform manner;
2) For this purpose, the Column Boom welding equipment should not only frequently work in the form of Welding Complex, collaborating with other Welding Equipment such as Welding Fixture, but also equipped with series optional function cells, depending on specific applicating case at customer site, such as but not limited to: Welding Swing Unit, Precise Cross Slide, Video Graphical Monitor, Seam Tracker...
3) This is the reason we name this Welding Equipment as integral control.
In this product section we will have discussion on 2 common selected function units, which are often equipped in the LHZ integral control :
Cross slides with precise linear guiderail in X axis (Horizontal direction) and Y axis (Vertical direction) (Fig.1)
Cross roll bearing connecting horizontal Boom and upright column for flexible movement: (Fig.2)
1) Function: This precise Cross Slide has same name as saddle (Cross slides) for transmitting and guiding horizontal Boom movement, but in different mechanisms, and with functions. Please check the above two photos for compare;
2) Saddle (Cross slides) is installed at middle position of the entire set of Welding Manipulator, for guiding horizontal Boom in vertical and horizontal directions movement;
3) Installation: Comparatively, this precise cross slide is installed at the front end of horizontal Boom, right above welding torch, for guiding welding torch vertical and horizontal movement, before official operation;
4) Configuration: This precise cross slide has the same function as welding seam tracing unit. Which means, the 2 units of precise cross slide and welding seam tracing unit do not necessarily appear together in any one set of Welding Manipulator. Instead, either one of the 2 function units is enough to fulfil the task of accurate welding position management, in any set of High Precision Welding Column and Boom, for adjusting position of the welding torch;
5) The welding seam tracing unit is a closed loop control unit. For its working principle and operating manner in the Welding Complex, please check product section of “LHZ High Precision Welding Manipulator with Welding Seam Tracker”;
6) Comparatively, the precise cross slide here is an open loop manipulating unit;
a) As can be seen from the above picture, there are 2 sets of motors on the cross slides, for powering X and Y axis both directions of welding torch movement during work period;
b) There is a laser generator unit on the welding torch. It can emit laser beam and have a focal point projected on the surface of workpiece;
c) Before official running on welding operation, check position of the welding torch by observing the focal point projected from laser generator: Whether welding torch is at correct position for job;
d) If necessary, adjust position of the welding torch by means of the switches on operating pendant of the Welding Column Boom, until getting the ideal position of welding torch.
This function unit is for acquiring large cover surface area on welded workpieces, during CO2 Back Welding: (Fig.3)
1) Why Necessary: When making CO2 back welding, considering the relative thinner welding wire to be used, it is difficult to get a satisfactory broad cover surface from the Welding Equipment;
2) Work Principle Usage: With welding swing unit fit on the welding torch, the Integral Control Welding Manipulator can have welding torch swing leftward and rightward in certain amplitude, so as to have a larger area of welding scope, thus getting a satisfactory welding surface quality;
3) One of the other Welding Equipment adopted with this welding swing unit is “LHD1500 Box Gantry Frame Pipe Back Welding Machine”.
