1.     Outline on Classification and Configuration of General Purpose Welding Column and Boom:

LHZ series General Purpose Welding Manipulator can be divided into 2 general groups of Standard Welding Manipulator and Special Made Welding Manipulator, which can be further classified from below aspects:

1)      Structure: Static and or Traveling Welding Manipulator, with Column Non-revolving, or Manual/ Motor drive Revolving;

2)      Loading capacity: Light duty /Medium duty /Heavy duty Automatic Welding Manipulator;

3)      Design and Configuration: General purpose / Special made;

4)      Purpose: For tank welding/ pipe/tube fabrication Automatic Welding Column and Boom;

5)      Welding Mode: SAW (Submerged arc welding)/ GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding) /MIG/ TIG/ MAG/ ESW (Electroslag) /Strip Cladding Welding Manipulator;

6)      Working Manner: Individual set of Universal Welding Column and Boom, or Welding Center;

7)      Chain of dedicated optional supplementary units: Seam tracker/ Video monitor/ Oscillator/ Cross slide.. available for choices to be equipped into Universal Welding Manipulator: (Fig.1,2)

2.     Welding Power Supply Equipped in General Purpose Welding Manipulator:

There are several brands of welding power source and supporting units under the scenario of various welding mode:

1)      Chinese HUAYUAN /U.S. Lincoln/ Swedish ESAB for SAW;

2)      Chinese HUAYUAN/ Japan Panasonic for GMAW (Gas shielded welding: MIG/ TIG/ MAG/ CO₂);

3)      Swedish ESAB for Strip Surfacing (or Strip Cladding)

To be worked with LHZ series of Universal Welding Column and Boom.

3.     Outline on Working Manner of LHZ Automatic Welding Column and Boom:

1)      Boom horizontal movement leftward and rightward, which is for performing welding job, is powered with A.C. braking motor, and has speed controllable by means of inverter and displayed, on operating pendant of Automatic Welding Manipulator: (Fig.3)

2)      Boom elevating movement, column revolve and trolley travel are also powered with A.C. braking motor in constant speed;

3)      All the above mentioned movement are constant torque delivery;

4)      Start-on and or stop operation of Welding Manipulator is quick and nimble;

5)      Slewing support (or called Cross roll bearing) of the Universal Welding Column and Boom is made from Chinese domestic professional and famous supplier. It is fit with high precision gear, featuring in flexible rotation and dependable running, and can be locked securely by hand: (Fig.4)

6)      Trolley rail of the Moving Welding Manipulator is standard type railway track. Trolley has two types of manual and motor drive. Of which manual trolley is usually for light duty and or small traveling range of Welding Column and Boom, while motor drive trolley is for medium and heavy duty Welding Column and Boom, and or extensive traveling range;

7)      Manned type Special Made Welding Manipulator is equipped with chair or platform, alongside the boom;

8)      Control: With the help of remote pendant and operating panel, both direct and remote control can be realized in LHZ Automatic Welding Column and Boom, with convenient and easy operation;

9)      Future Expansion: There is open interconnecting interface inside control cabinet of the Standard Welding Manipulator, for the convenience of future synchronous linkage with other kinds of Welding Equipment, such as Welding Positioner, Welding Turntable, Welding Rotator, etc.;
