The difference between Pipe Beveling Machine and Edge Milling Machine lies on workpiece: Steel pipe, instead of steel plate;
2. Based on size and length of pipe, the Pipe Beveling Machine can be divided into medium duty and heavy duty. The medium duty Pipe Beveling Machine focuses on chamfering pipe with diameter up to Φ1200 mm and length 3000mm; And heavy duty Pipe Beveling Machine can have edge milling on pipes with diameter up to Φ1500 mm, and length up to 15m or even longer;
3. Correspondingly, the structure and working principle of medium duty and heavy duty Pipe Beveling Machine are in certain degree different;
4. The heavy duty Pipe Beveling Machine works together with heavy duty Edge Milling Machine, to be applied in manufacture line of Large Diameter Longitudinal Seam Welding Pipe for oil and gas pipeline.

1. 1 Medium duty Pipe Beveling Machine

1. Structure and Working Way of Medium duty Pipe Beveling Machine:

1) As can be seen from the lefthand photo, in the medium duty Pipe Beveling Machine, there is a piece of high speed revolution circular facer blade, which, under the drive of motor reducer, renders beveling on the rim of pipe opposing the facer blade;
2) The workpiece pipe of the Pipe Beveling Machine is located and fixed on a set of platform fixture, which is composed of 4 pieces of brackets. To accommodate varied diameters of the pipe, the 4 pieces of the brackets can be moved along the slot in platform fixture;
3) During running of the medium duty Pipe Beveling Machine, the pipe is further fastened by means of chains.

1.2 Heavy duty Pipe Beveling Machine

1. Structure and Working Way of Heavy duty Pipe Beveling Machine:

1) In Chinese language, the heavy duty Pipe Beveling Machine is also called “Flat Head Pipe Chamfering Machine”, which gives specialty of its structure;
2) There is a piece of large size and heavy duty (Driven with hydraulic oil cylinders) fixture in this heavy duty Pipe Beveling Machine, which has external square contour, and internal round chuck fixture, for clamping different diameters of pipe for edge milling. When diameter of the pipe changes, the corresponding internal chuck fixture should also be replaced into the Pipe Beveling Machine;
3) The entire piece of pipe is laid on a set of horizontal moving sliding table, which is for feeding in and retreating the pipe. So, such heavy duty Pipe Beveling Machine can have edge milling on pipe with 12m length or even longer.

2. Pipe Assembly Machine with Tack Welding

2 Types of The Pipe Assembly Machine:

1. In the process route of pipeline production, there are 2 types of Pipe Assembly Machine with tack welding:

1) Assembled and tack welded with flange at one end of the pipe;
2) Assembled and tack welded with elbow at the other end of the pipe.
 

2. The Specialties of Pipe Assembly Machine:

1) The above listed 2 types of assembling is made at the same time in the Pipe Assembly Machine, thus attaining the benefit of workshop land saving, and productivity raising;
2) Due to characteristic of Pipe Assembly Machine, tack welding with both flange and elbow is made with manual welding.

2.1 Pipe Assembly Machine with Flange

1. Structure and Working Way of Pipe Assembly Machine with Flange:

1) As can be seen from lefthand photo, in this set of Pipe Assembly Machine with Flange, workpiece pipe is put a set of traveling type Welding Rotator, so that different lengths of the pipe can be accommodated;
2) Flange is hung on a piece of vertical fixture by means of 2 pieces of positioning pin. The vertical fixture is installed on the trolley of the Pipe Assembly Machine;
3) The position of the positioning pins can be changed according to dimension and specification of flange and pipe;
4) The red and green buttons of the Pipe Assembly Machine are integrated into lateral side of the trolley, for adjusting vertical and horizontal position of the vertical fixture;
5) Upon positioning and put into place of pipe and flange, manual tack welding can be performed on the Pipe Assembly Machine.

2.2 Pipe Assembly Machine with Elbow

1. Structure and Working Way of Pipe Assembly Machine with Elbow:

1) The Pipe Assembly Machine with Elbow is similar to with flange in the previous segment, but with simpler location of the elbow: Just put it on the pallet, as shown in the righthand photo;
2) Here design of the Pipe Assembly Machine should be paid attention on size and position of the pallet, so that the pallet can accommodate fit-up structure of elbow with pipe;
3) Generally speaking, for operation of Pipe Assembly Machine at both ends of the pipe, both ends can not be made at the same time. Instead, first make assembly at one end first, then complete the job at the opposing end.

3. Pipe Welding Machine

2 Types of The Pipe Welding Machine:

Correspondingly, Pipe Welding Machine can be divided into 2 types of:
1. Pipe Welding Machine with elbow;
2. Pipe Welding Machine with flange;
Both kinds of Pipe Welding Machine adopt welding mode of continuous CO2 welding. This is because pipeline fabrication needs high strength of welding seam, which can only be attained by means of IK value (Impact value) CO2 welding.

3.1 Pipe Welding Machine with Elbow

1. Structure and Working Way of Pipe Welding Machine with Elbow:

1) As can be seen from the lefthand photo, due to the long length of pipe (Up to 10m or even longer), the Pipe Welding Machine with Elbow has a group of Welding Rotator for holding and rotating pipe, during its finished circumferential welding with elbow;
2) To prevent the pipe from skidding, the Pipe Welding Machine has a set of rollers right above the pipe to clamp the pipe, which is manipulated downward by hand, catering for varying diameters of the pipe.

3.2 Pipe Welding Machine with Flange

1. Structure and Working Way of Pipe Welding Machine with Flange:

1) Shown in the righthand photo, in the process route of Pipeline Fabrication, the Pipe Welding Machine with Flange is situated following with elbow. This is the reason why, in the photo, the pipe had already been welded with elbow at one end, and was being welded with flange at other side;
2) The Pipe Welding Machine with flange here has similar function as Pipe Flange Circumferential Welding Machine. The difference lies in, the workpiece applicable in the latter has straight structure, which can be put onto straight railway directly; While the pipeline here has elbow at one end, so, structure of the Pipe Welding Machine with flange should be changed accordingly.
