The attached first photo on DX1416 Welding Structure Member End Face Milling Machine was taken at Wuxi JACK workshop.
1) Workpiece: For this DX1416 model machine, its max. end face milling stroke of 1,400 mm in vertical direction and 1,600 mm in horizontal direction implies section shape of its workpiece approximates to square, which is verified with structure of its special designed hydraulic fixture: An enclosed square frame, with a piece of hydraulic oil cylinder installed at and going through its bottom, alongside the DX1416 H Beam End Face Milling Machine;
2) What’s more, as can be seen from the first photo, there is a piece of 1,000 mm long extension rod at the bottom of the cylinder. From this we can draw conclusion that some of workpieces to be milled in this machine are very small, around 400~ 500mm size;
3) Such specification is uncommon for product group of DX series H Beam End Face Milling Machine: Currently in this field the frequently used are DX12xx/ DX15xx (Like DX1215/ DX1520/ DX1540…), for end face milling height of 1,200 mm/ 1,500 mm respectively. So, DX1416 is a tailor made model of steel structure machine;
4) Application: So, where is this dimension and type of H Beam End Face Milling machine to be used? The customer also comes from steel structure industry, in the subdivided areas of Buildings Construction/ Stadium Construction, etc.
a) As we mentioned in the product section of “CNC-DX3040 Pipe End Face Milling Machine”, in small and medium models of machine, DX20xx and smaller ones, workpiece should be fixed into its bracket with heavy hydraulic force. It is like hydraulic jacks for Edge Milling Machine;
b) Small and medium size workpieces need to be clamped firmly with its bracket. Depending on specific workpiece to be machined, we design various custom made hydraulic drive bracket, working as workpiece fixture in small to medium models H Beam End Face Milling Machine;
c) Please check the attached 2nd and 3rd photos on three other kinds of brackets used for this purpose, and variations of this important mechanism for models machine. Definitely, it has very similar function as Welding Fixture, only differs in type of process technology (End face milling versus welding);
Taking the “leading role” of this product section, the DX1416 model as example, for proper loading in of the workpiece,
a) The extension rod needs to be removed from the square frame ahead of time, to leaving sufficient space for workpiece coming in;
b) For the same reason, the oil cylinder should be retracted to its original position at top of the square frame;
c) The workpiece should be extended or “inserted” into the square frame from external side (The side away from main body of the H Beam End Face Milling Machine), and laid on the bracket;
d) Then, based on side length of workpiece, you can make decision whether the extension rod to be used or not (Out of reach of the oil cylinder, the extension rod should be applied);
e) Jog down the cylinder by means of toggle switch on operating panel of the machine, until the cylinder presses the workpiece firmly;
3) Complement: The attached 4th photo shows end face milling operation on H Beam with this H Beam End Face Milling Machine; The attached 5th photo is the special design square frame workpiece fixture for this DX1416; The attached 6th photo is on the 7.5kW milling head equipped with the End Face Milling Machine.
